Yukon, Vancouver Island, Ontario, Mexico!

October 17, 2014

Happy Autumn, Folks.

Fall started for us at the wonderful Deep Roots Folk Festival in Wolfville, N.S. It was great to share the stage with Jaron Freeman-Fox again. My son Patrick and I have an exciting touring schedule in the coming months. We have a hometown gig here Saturday night, a double bill with his band Larque at The Harmony House Theatre in Hunter River. On Wednesday we head to The Yukon for a bunch of shows and a singing workshop.

In late January, we go to Victoria, B.C. We are teaming up with a 300-piece choir for two shows at The Alix Goolden Hall at The Victoria Conservatory of Music. We are thrilled to be the guest artists for these shows. We also have shows in Duncan at The Show Room and plan to get over to Pender Island.

October Browne and I will be back on the road in early February for our annual gad about, ‘Raise The Dead of Winter’ tour, with shows in Toronto, Belleville, Kitchener, New Hamburg and Waterloo. More about that later.

As the chill of winter approaches consider travelling to Mexico for our Sound Yoga/Sand Yoga workshop during March break. Lynda Shadbolt and I teamed up last year to teach voice and yoga in the tranquil little beach town, Puerto Morelos, just south of Cancun. We had a wonderful time together and plan to make this an annual event. My family has been going to this town for years. We’ve got some great friends there and I have Mexican musicians that I get to perform with. Get in touch by email or phone (902) 838-2973 for more details.

October and I will be back on the road together in Northern Ontario in late April and in early May Patrick and I will be returning to Quebec.

In the meantime, I have a few more pickles to make before hitting the road. I had an awesome garden this year, bumper year for squash (200 lb or more, thank you Mae Moore for the seed); blue potatoes, sweet potatoes, beets, black beans, onions and garlic in storage for the winter. I froze a lot of roasted tomato sauce this year, pesto of course, bottled tons of dill pickles and just made salsa verde from my tomatillos. I look forward to meeting gardeners on the road and sharing heritage seed.

Happy fall folks!

Cheers,
Teresa
