Spring Concerts and Workshops in Quebec

April 24, 2015

Hi, Folks.

Well we survived the winter, it was a tough one with fully 17 feet of snow! Climate change has not been kind to us. I managed to miss a chunk of it thankfully. We were out on tour for most of February. My son Patrick and I had two amazing shows at The Aliz Gooldin Theatre in Victoria as guests with the 300 piece Getting Higher Choir. It was one of my favourite gigs ever! October Browne and I did our annual Raise the Dead of Winter tour. It was a challenge in -30 degree conditions. Thanks to everyone that hosted us and came to our shows in bitter weather. Brett and I spent three amazing weeks in our home away from home—Puerto Morelos, Mexico. It was glorious. I love that town, we have wonderful friends there and I have a nice group of musicians to perform with.

Patrick and I are heading to Quebec next week. Our first stop is Montreal for a show at Casa del Popolo, 4871 Boul St.Laurent on Weds May 6th at 8:00 p.m. We’ll be joined by old friends Jon Rehder, his daughter Marianne and Hugh Ball. Jon, Hugh and I studied singing together in the ’80s. This will be a fabulous reunion, all the sweeter with our kids on stage with us. On Thursday May 7 Patrick and I will be at Coeur de Village in St Isadore de la Prairie, and Friday May 8 we return to Cafe Namasthe in Ormstown.

On Saturday May 9th I’ll be back in Montreal for two singing workshops. The first is a vocal technique workshop from noon till 3:30 and then a Yoga of Sound workshop from 4:30 till 6:30. Email me to register. The workshops are being hosted by Susan Palmer at 1263 Visitation near the Beaudry Metro. Susan’s # is 514 525 3215.

Patrick and I are really looking forward to our spring run to Quebec. Hopefully we will see some of you at our shows and happy spring to one and all. If you are on Prince Edward Island in mid-May check out the first ever May Run Festival. Patrick will perform with me and with his band, Larque.

Cheers,
Teresa
