Summer 2015 Festivals, Concerts & Singing Workshop

June 15, 2015

Happy Summer, Folks.

Well the garden is planted, the posters are made and summer is in full swing here on the island. It’s going to be a busy one! My season starts tonight at the first ever Atlantic Canadian Tionel in concert at BarNone in Rose Valley, PEI. Friday night is ‘Let Them Eat Cake,’ our annual fundraiser for Rock Barra Artist Retreat at The Haviland Club in Charlottetown. We have a very exciting season planned for the retreat. Go to www.rockbarraretreat.com for details.

My son Patrick is performing with me all summer. We continue to have a wonderful time together, our harmonies are getting tighter and he’s introducing some of his fine compositions into our repertoire. We’ll be in Moncton, New Brunswick, on June 26 as part of the Ivan and Vivian Hicks concert series. Call 506-386-2996 for tickets.

Patrick and I are thrilled to be performing at the iconic Mariposa Folk Festival, July 3, 4 and 5 in Orillia, Ontario. I’ve been to Mariposa a few times over the years and can’t wait to return. The following weekend we are down in Lockport, Nova Scotia, for the Harmony Bazaar Women’s Festival. This will be my third time at this sweet little festival in a beautiful part of southern Nova Scotia.

With the festivals behind us we return to the island for the rest of the summer. Every Sunday night I’ll be hosting the summer concert series at Rock Barra Retreat, and this year Patrick and I will be performing every Thursday night at The Garden Theatre at The Prince Edward Island Preserve Company. This is a stunning little theatre over looking The River Clyde. Come have supper in their fine restaurant, visit the Gardens of Hope, sample their world famous preserves and join us for the show at 7:30 pm on Thursdays from July 16 to August 20.

My annual singing camp at Rock Barra Retreat is July 31 to August 2. We start Friday evening, through Saturday until noon on Sunday. We will explore The Yoga of Sound, singing as a healing modality and a bit of vocal technique thrown in for good measure. We sing, swim, laugh, eat, walk the labyrinth, woods trails and beach and basically have a roaring good time. I hope you can make it. Get in touch asap to reserve your spot. Call me at 902-838-2973 for more information or email teresa@teresadoyle.com.

Happy gardening, all. We hope to see you over the summer.

Cheers,
Teresa
