Teresa and Patrick are off to Australia!

December 4, 2017

Hello, Folks.

Happy December. Just three more weeks and the days will be getting longer again! We always celebrate the solstice with a big party, singing Christmas carols at the top of our lungs. Drop in if you live in the neighbourhood.

In November, October Browne and I had an awesome two week tour of Ontario. October and I always have a great deal of fun when we get together. Thanks to all the people who hosted, presented and promoted our tour, and most of all, thank you to all the good folks who came out to our shows.

Now for the big news. My son Patrick and I are flying to Australia on Christmas Day. We are really pumped. We’ve been invited to play at the iconic Woodford Folk Festival near Brisbane. 120,000 people attend this festival which features performers from around the planet. We are so grateful to be in their number. Fellow Islanders, The East Pointers are also on the bill, and we are doing one performance with them. It is so amazing to be heading out on this journey with Patrick.

I’ll be down under for a month to play some smaller gigs on the east coast of Australia and am flying down to Tasmania for the Cygnet Folk Festival. I’ve always wanted to see Tasmania. Patrick returns to Canada in early January to finish his last term at U.P.E.I. He’s doing a double major — political science and philosophy.

We wish our friends, family and fans a beautiful Christmas season and a peaceful 2018 full of music, friendship, community and reverence for our precious planet.

Lots of love,
Teresa
